Jenny + Rodney's Palauea (White Rock) Beach, Maui Elopement Photography

Jenny and Rodney were a last minute booking for their Maui beach elopement. They had planned on getting married near their home in Texas, but as weddings sometimes do, things got a little too stressful and crazed. The couple decided to cancel their wedding and run away to get married on Maui instead! Following their elopement, Jenny and Rodney told me that they were very pleased with the decision to elope on Maui and everything turned out exactly the way that they had wanted it to (with much less stress)!

This is a second marriage for both Jenny and Rodney, and both have children that they are bringing together into their family. The couple has known each other since high school, but they didn’t reconnect until later in life. I was especially touched by this couple’s heartfelt written vows. Jenny and Rodney are grounded in their faith, and that commitment was evident throughout their elopement ceremony.

Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Jenny and Rodney! It was an honor to be your Maui elopement photographer, and I hope to see you again when you return to visit Maui.

Kind words from the bride:

I can’t tell you how much we love these photos! You did an amazing job!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for capturing these precious moments!

Connie + Patrick's South Shore, Maui Elopement Photography

Connie and Patrick are a lovely couple that live in San Francisco, and they decided to elope on Maui. This couple and their elopement stand out to me as being incredibly elegant. Connie’s dress was STUNNING, and Patrick was dressed quite dapper. More important than their wedding clothes, however, Connie and Patrick clearly share a deep love for each other, and their excitement for their future together shines through in these images.

This ceremony took place at Makena Cove (aka Secret’s Beach, aka Paako Cove). During the summer months, Maui sometimes has swells that cause large waves on the South Shore. Makena Cove is quite a small beach, although its beauty is apparent in its popularity for weddings. During Connie and Patrick’s elopement, there was little beach left due to the swell and high tide. We were able to find a spot among the lava rocks for the ceremony, and then we moved to a nearby beach for the portrait session following the ceremony.

Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Connie and Patrick! It was a pleasure to be your Maui elopement photographer! I hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your stay on Maui. Aloha!

Sophia + Ross' Honeymoon Photography Session at Maluaka Beach, Maui

Following their wedding in Louisiana, Sophia and Ross traveled to Maui to celebrate their honeymoon. They decided that it would be fun to document their time on Maui with a photography session. Although their wedding photographer spent several hours with them on their wedding day, let’s face it— weddings can be stressful! Having professional photos taken during your honeymoon allows your love for each other to be documented while you are much more relaxed, and with magical Maui as your backdrop.

I met Sophia and Ross for a sunset photography session at Maluaka Beach on Maui’s South Shore. We quickly learned that we all share a passion for a real food lifestyle! This was very exciting as Sophia and Ross had never met anyone who follows their lifestyle (we opt for properly-raised meats and fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and healthy fats, while avoiding processed foods and foods that are difficult to digest). In addition to photography, I am functional health and nutrition practitioner, so I am incredibly passionate about this topic! We had a great time talking about all of the healthy places to eat on Maui.

Outside of their interest in a healthy lifestyle, Sophia works as a social worker, and Ross serves in the military. Sophia and Ross are a beautiful couple, and their love for each other shines through in these photos. Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations) on your marriage, Sophia and Ross! It was a pleasure to serve as your Maui honeymoon photographer, and I hope to see you again on your next visit to Maui!

The K Family's Maui Photography Session at Olowalu, Maui

On a bright, sunny 4th of July morning, I met the K Family on Maui’s West Side for their family photography session. The K Family was visiting Maui from Chicago. They had welcomed their beautiful daughter into their ohana two months ago, and they opted to hold off on newborn photos until their Maui vacation. The gorgeous Maui backdrop of green mountains and palm trees swaying gently in the breeze combined with this sweet, adorable baby did not disappoint!

It’s no secret that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE sunrise sessions. The light is typically softer and there are less people at the beach than at sunset. And there is something incredibly special about welcoming a new day on Maui!

Congratulations to the K Family on the birth of their daughter! It was a pleasure to be your Maui family photographer, and I look forward to seeing you again on your next visit.
