Lori and Reid live in Alabama, and they decided to have an intimate wedding on Maui shortly following their engagement. Lori knew that she wanted their wedding date to be September 13th to honor the wedding date of her grandparents, so this couple hustled to pull together their wedding details quickly. They invited their closet family and friends to join them for their ceremony on Ironwoods Beach.
Ironwoods Beach (Oneloa) is one of my favorite locations for beach ceremonies on Maui’s West Side. This location features an expansive white sand beach, cliffs, lava rocks, and a staircase that makes for a fun wedding processional. Lori and Reid did not want to see each other prior to the ceremony, and it was important to Lori that her father walk her “down the aisle” (or in this case, down the beach to the ceremony location). The staircase was ideal for Lori’s entrance to the ceremony site, and Reid’s first opportunity to see his bride in her dress. The afternoon was slightly overcast, which yielded ideal light for photography. Maui did not disappoint with a stunning sunset!
Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Lori and Reid! It was a pleasure to be your Maui intimate wedding photographer! I hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your stay on Maui.
