Connie + Patrick's South Shore, Maui Elopement Photography

Connie and Patrick are a lovely couple that live in San Francisco, and they decided to elope on Maui. This couple and their elopement stand out to me as being incredibly elegant. Connie’s dress was STUNNING, and Patrick was dressed quite dapper. More important than their wedding clothes, however, Connie and Patrick clearly share a deep love for each other, and their excitement for their future together shines through in these images.

This ceremony took place at Makena Cove (aka Secret’s Beach, aka Paako Cove). During the summer months, Maui sometimes has swells that cause large waves on the South Shore. Makena Cove is quite a small beach, although its beauty is apparent in its popularity for weddings. During Connie and Patrick’s elopement, there was little beach left due to the swell and high tide. We were able to find a spot among the lava rocks for the ceremony, and then we moved to a nearby beach for the portrait session following the ceremony.

Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Connie and Patrick! It was a pleasure to be your Maui elopement photographer! I hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your stay on Maui. Aloha!

Jennifer + Jesse's Paipu Beach, Maui Elopement Photography

Jennifer and Jesse live in Idaho, and they planned their elopement on Maui due to their love for the island. Their elopement was one of the most unique that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing! Most elopement ceremonies are 15-20 minutes, while their ceremony was only a few short minutes (hence why you won’t see as many photos of the ceremony as in others that I’ve photographed). The officiant was a friend of the couple. Jennifer and Jesse had some close family members and a few friends in attendance.

The couple also requested to do a “trash the dress” session where they both got into the ocean while wearing their wedding attire! It was so much fun! We coordinated this so that it happened at the end of the bridal portrait session, and then they were able to change their clothes and enjoy the remainder of the sunset at the beach.

Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Jennifer and Jesse! I loved meeting you and your family, and being your Maui elopement photographer! I hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your stay on Maui. Aloha!

Angel + James' Ironwoods Beach, Maui Elopement Photography

On a gorgeous late May afternoon, Angel and James were married during an elegant beach elopement ceremony on Ironwoods Beach (Oneloa), Maui. Angel and James have been together for 7 years, and earlier this year, they decided that an elopement on Maui was the perfect way for them to wed. The couple is from Pennsylvania, and like many who elope on Maui, they had never visited the island before.

I had a great time getting to know this sweet, beautiful couple! They had tried surfing for the first time earlier in the week, and they were looking forward to going again. I offered my tips for the best beginner surf spots on Maui…I hope that they ended up being stoked on the surf :)

It was an honor to be your Maui elopement photographer, Angel and James! Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations)!

Stephanie + Randall's Makena Cove, Maui Elopement Photography

Stephanie and Randall planned their Maui elopement from their home in California. They had eight family members in attendance for their lovely ceremony. During their ceremony, the first large south swell of the season was occuring, which meant that there wasn’t as much white sand beach available at Makena Cove. Although Makena Cove is a stunning location, and it’s easy to understand it’s popularity for elopements on Maui, when swells come from the south during the summer months, the larger waves can take the beach right out. A large wave came up on shore during the ceremony, soaking some of the wedding party (and me!). For the bridal portraits, we weren’t able to explore the lava rocks for safety reasons, so I took the couple to a nearby “secret” spot, and it ended up working out perfectly.

Stephanie’s haku lei and tropical bouquet were stunning details that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon, as well as the couple’s obvious love for each other. Stephanie and Randall were a sweet, fun couple to work with, and I was honored to be their Maui elopement photographer! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and some of their close family members. Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Stephanie and Randall!
